is a wonderful craft book based on ways to repurpose everyday objects.
This book is a really lovely hard backed book, it is a woven backed with no dust cover & each page is just deliciously lovely & papery!
It is a very well presented book & as soon as I get my hands on it I want to dive right in & see what's on offer!
The craft ideas are simple crafts using items you can easily find in the home (if you are a hoarder!) or in charity shops & car boot fairs.
I was immediately drawn to this little craft idea of making charm bracelets from little bits & pieces. 1. because I used to make jewellery & 2. because as you may be able to see there is one made from old bottle tops & my husband
James as many of you know is an artist & actually paints
old bottle tops (these paintings are super popular!!!) & we have hundreds of these cuties, so I may have to pinch some & make myself a cute bracelet!
I fell in love with this old tape measure rosette.
How quirky & cute is this lace doily lampshade idea!
I just love this idea of using old cotton reels as hooks.
I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to things like old wooden cotton reels as I just love them & this is a perfect way to use them.
Another really cute idea for hooks is this on in the
book using ceramic knobs too!
These glass tea-light holders look so pretty with their little makeover of lace trim perfect for old glasses & old doilies.
How lovely is this idea to use old loaf tins as wall scones?
Oh my, I thought I'd died & gone to junk heaven when I saw this junking makeover using old pastry cutters as a pendant lamp!
Found some old lampshades but the material is too far gone to save or you simply don't like it?
Then take that material off & use the lampshade bases for tables!!!
Junk Genius is filled with cute & quirky craft ideas & the book is divided into seven chapters ..
Jewelry & Decoration
Fabric & Trims
Paper & Card
China & Wood
Glass & Mirror
Metal & Wire
Furniture & Furnishings
Each chapter is filled with delicious photos & simple 'how to' descriptions for
upcycling.
I just love this book, this is a book I can return to time & time again & the way it feels & smells with it's lovely papery pages makes it all the more special.
Ok so there are a few crafts in there that I wouldn't personally try like embellishing a denim jacket but I think you would find that with any craft book, but there is definitely so much more I would want to do in this book than not!
If you are a seasoned crafter or into upcylcing some of the crafts you will have seen before no doubt & don't need instructions on how to do them but the photos themselves will inspire you I'm sure.
If you are new to crafting & upcycling I'm sure you will love this book.
There is even a little bit a the start of the book on how to 'find junk', perfect if you are a complete novice.
I think the instructions are clear, straightforward & presented well.
Junk Genius is priced at £19.99 but it has over 80 projects & ideas.
It is 192 pages long & has an astounding 250 colour photographs for you to gush over!
It is available from Ryland & Peters & you can find it
